Nadia Shaukat

My work deals with my physical, psychological and imaginary surroundings. Being a person who has spent her life in different parts of the world, I create a personal vision of my immediate environment. More than the reproduction of reality, I aim to recreate and recapture the experience and feelings of a moment, an event or a specific space. I seek to achieve this through my formal vocabulary: My work consists of pictures from my family album, various kinds of papers, product labels etc, which I arrange so that each time it is viewed, due to its open form, a new image or idea unfolds.
